Salisbury Restaurants

For a small town Salisbury and Lakeville have a great selection of amazing little restaurants. The Boathouse in Lakeville is one of the neighborhood favorites for great burgers and fish and chips. The Woodlands has been around forever with an expansive menu, lively crowd, very good sushi. The White Hart smack in the middle of Salisbury on the main green has a cozy taproom, a sit down restaurant with what might best be termed modern New England comfort food. And any time of the year the green out front of the Inn is a wonderful place to sit back and watch the world go by. Fern is a newcomer, in the old Lakeville firehouse that does excellent Italian. The Runwich in Lakeville is one of the best breakfast sandwiches to be had in Connecticut. Sweet Williams in Salisbury is a great little bakery and has delicious coffee.

Schools

Salisbury and Lakeville, have top notch schools. Salisbury Central is the public school from PK through 8thgrade. There are also a couple of excellent private schools in town, Hotchkiss and Salisbury are both high schools while Indian Mountain goes from PK through 9th grade.

Sports

The area in and around Salisbury and Lakeville has year round sports and recreational activities that will keep everyone busy. Sitting at the base of the Berkshires, the area has an abundance of great hiking and walking trails and woods to get lost in. With a couple of ponds and lakes, there is fishing, boating, paddleboarding and swimming to be had. Lakeville has a wonderful Town Grove with a beach and docks. There are a few town owned tennis courts and a baseball field in Lakeville. Hilly by nature the roads winding through the towns are great for biking. Winter is just as busy. The area has three small ski mountains that are easily accessible, Mohawk, Butternut and Catamount, all of which are good fun no matter what level of skier you might be. Mohawk has a super fun kids ski school. Lakes become a place to go ice skating. The winter trails are good for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
